I know it’s Monday and that’s less than ideal – but I have wonderful news! It’s Restaurant Week AND Beer Week in DC and apparently, Tuesday is also National Rum Day. So if you’re bummed to be back at work, don’t be – a week of food, fun, and fabulous is just getting started! Happy Eating and Drinking! xo – KC
- Restaurant Week in DC is the perfect time to try out great restaurants that may not always be in the budget. I recommend using Washingtonian’s or Capital Spice’s Restaurant Week guide to figure out who’s serving what and who has the best deal! RW lasts through the 21st, though many area restaurants extend their deals through the month!
- DC Beer Week began yesterday and will run through Saturday with nearly 200 events all throughout the DC metro area. Check out the full list of events and happenings here!
- National Rum Day (yes, such a thing exists…) is Tuesday, August 16th and to celebrate, Cuba Libre is offering 1/2 off of all rum-based cocktails and their extensive (and slightly intense) rum menu during “Caippy Hour” (4:30 – 6:30pm). Bottoms up, wallets down!
- Hanks Oyster Bar & Lounge will officially be open on Tuesday! The addition of the lounge area to Washington staple, Hanks Oyster Bar, makes the restaurant twice as big as before and looks like it’s going to make it the perfect late-night lounge and food spot! And for you oyster lovers: Hanks is debuting the Hayden’s Reef Oyster fresh from the Chesapeake Bay!
