Ice Champions Live: Michael Weiss, Former Olympians Give Back!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Before you get your weekend started, I wanted to make you aware of an AMAZING event happening this weekend, with proceeds going to a cause very near and dear to my heart.  I grew up a figure skater and though a career-ending injury took me out of that world, I never lost my passion for the beautiful sport.

With that said, this Saturday, Michael Weiss, three-time U.S. National Figure Skating Champion, two-time Olympian (and my former practice mate), is celebrating the 7th Annual Michael Weiss Foundation “Ice Champions LIVE!” Michael is bringing 22 of the most famous faces in figure skating (like former Olympians Brian Boitano and Ilia Kulik) to Kettler Capitals Iceplex to perform and help raise money for his foundation, which furthers the dreams of even more local child athletes.  Figure Skating can be a VERY expensive sport – just ask my parents – and the Michael Weiss Foundation raises money to offer scholarships to aspiring Olympiads who may not otherwise be able to afford it.

When: Saturday, October 1st at 5:00 pm
Where: Kettler Capitals Iceplex, in Arlington, Va.

Tickets are now on sale through and or by calling (866) 468-7630.  Ticket prices range from $20-$50. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to figure skating scholarships to be awarded later this year.

It’ll be a great show so don’t miss it!

  1. I used to work at Fairfax Ice Arena….. pretty funny. Glad you posted this, I think there are few people outside the skating world who truly understand the amount of dedication, time, and money it takes to compete!
