Happy Friday from Capitol K! Today marks our first post with our new name and our new look and there’s plenty more to come. So, sit back, have a read and enjoy the long weekend!
This coming Thursday, Sept. 9th marks the 4th annual Fashion’s Night Out, a global night of shopping and fun to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping. There are tons of ways to get into the sprit this year and shop fabulously in Georgetown. Check out some of my favorites:
Be Stylish for a Cause: Purchase a $15 signature FNO Georgetown t-shirt and tank and a $10 tote bag at the Dean & DeLuca/BYT Lounge and 100% of proceeds will go towards Vital Voices Global Partnership.
Check out Charm Georgetown’s “Bubbles & Baubles”: One of my favorite jewelry, accessories and gifts boutique will be throwing a “Bubbles & Baubles” party featuring champagne, storewide discounts up to 50%, and a chance to win a “Charming Gift Bag”, filled with goodies from the boutique.
Look your best at Nectar Skin Bar: Visit my eyebrow guru, Adrian, and the rest of the Nectar Skin Bar team as they host the “Feels like Fall, Fashion, and Fresh Beauty” event. Partnering with IPSA to present Oribe dry blowouts, a lipstick bar with products from Kevin Aucoin, Becca cosmetics and Paul and Joe Beaute, quick polish changes and other signature offerings to keep you looking fabulous all night long!
Sip in Style at Urban Chic: As one of Georgetown’s chicest boutiques, Urban Chic is a no brainer for FNO. But if a Rebecca Minkoff trunk show and personalized bag monogramming don’t get you there, the fabulous cocktails, treats courtesy of Fresh Baked and Georgetown Cupcake, a styling bar by Easel Hair Studio, and (best of all), custom fashion illustrations by Inslee Haynes definitely will. Don’t miss it!
Bring the boys (and take them to Hugh & Crye): The men’s store located on O Street will be hosting “Cocktails, Collars and Cuffs,” a toast to the gentleman who dresses up without occasion (read: my fabulous husband). Food and masculine libations (like Glenlivet) will be provided.
Sip in your Stilettos at Sassanova: The fabulous shoe boutique will be hosting a fabulous evening of champagne and great shoes (the staples of life) alongside a dazzling trunk show by Queen Bee Design’s Allison Priebe Brooks and a chance to win free shoes!
Have a (stylish) drink: Throughout Georgetown, participating restaurants will be serving chic FNO cocktails all night long. Enjoy Bandolero’s The Devil Wears Prada and Morton’s The Steakhouse’s Black Tie Cocktail and check out the complete list of cocktails and dining specials at http://fnogeorgetowndc.com/events.php
Extend FNO to Saturday for a fabulous cause: On Saturday, September 8th, be sure to stop by Nicole Miller in Tysons Galleria, where you can enjoy a fabulous evening with amazing bites, bubbly, and shopping to help end domestic violence. Nicole Miller is donating 20% of all proceeds to Becky’s Fund youth education and prevention programs.
