Capitol Boo! Your Guide to Halloween in DC!

It’s that time of year – time to pick out your costume and hit some fabulous Halloween parties around town! Plenty of local joints are sponsoring costume contests, so resist the urge to dress up like Honey Boo-Boo and get creative.  Happy Halloween!

W Hotel Neon Lights 80’s Halloween Party: Party atop the W’s famous rooftop for a great cause on Friday, October 26th.  Proceeds will benefit the Washington Humane Society and guests will have the opportunity to enjoy signature cocktails and 80’s music all night long.  Best costume will win a W DC sleepover package with Champagne and Breakfast in Bed!  8 PM – 3 AM. $40/person. Boo at the Zoo: The best way to trick or treat in Washington! Head to the National Zoo on October 26th, 27th or 28th and enjoy animal encounters and festive decorations along with tasty candy and delicious snack foods from more than 30 treat stations throughout the Zoo.  5:30 PM to 8:00 PM nightly.  $20 FONZ Members, $30 Non-FONZ members.  More information here.

Black Jack (above Pearl Dive Oyster Bar): On Saturday, October 27th, guests are encouraged to dress in their most creative and eye-catching attire for a night of dancing and live music courtesy of DJ Roz.  Festive drink specials include a featured punch and frozen drinks served in novelty glasses. Masa 14: 14th Street’s lively Latin-Asian inspired neighborhood restaurant is excited to host a Halloween Costume Party on Saturday, October 27th.  Judged by the bartending staff, guests are encouraged to dress in their most creative and frightening outfits for a night of dancing and live music, with a DJ spinning music throughout the two story restaurant.  The winner of the contest will receive a prize of a complimentary bottomless brunch for four people at Masa 14 to redeem in 2012. 10 PM to 3 AM. 1825 14th Street, NW. www.masa14.com
